HD 173791
HD 173791 (30 G. Telescopium) is a giant star in the constellation Telescopium, located about from Earth. It has an apparent magnitude of +5.8, allowing it to be viewed with the naked eye under suitable viewing conditions. The stellar classification is G8III, which indicates that it has evolved from a main sequence star and has expanded into a giant with three times the Sun's radius.〔 The effective temperature of its chromosphere is 5,200 K,〔 giving it the characteristic yellow hue of a G-type star.〔
It has an estimated lifespan of 10 billion years and has about the same mass as the Sun. After passing through the giant stage, its end state will probably be a carbon-oxygen white dwarf.〔
